In this assignment, I’ve created 5 different sculptures. My topic was GUNDAM, a Japanese animation about giant robots, yet I changed the topic to fantasy due to balance issues. You can still see the original design on the drafts, but the work aside is totally not the same thing.
One funny thing is, that some of my sculptures have an extra face on them, which I didn’t expect in the first place.
I changed a GUNDAM robot into this clay figure because I feared that it might not stand properly after adding legs. Although I didn’t finish the whole robot, I kept the trunk and thighs as the body of the clay figure. That’s why you can still see the robot’s chest, which is now the eyes of the figure.
This rocket became an elf tree after the theme of fantasy was established. As you can see, this work looks like an elf with a hat and also a Christmas tree, so I named this work “elf tree” to make both meanings apply to this work.
This coco bird was originally a shield for the robot, yet I changed my mind because it was a little boring. I added eyes and mouth to make it look like a real creature. I don’t know why this coco bird ended up like a penguin><.
