1. Topic: Surface & Above the Surface

2. Work Description:

For this project, I chose the theme "Surface & Above the Surface" and designed five different scenarios. The first one is ice cream dropped on the floor, where I used cut-up Styrofoam balls to represent the effect of ice cream melting and splattering on the ground. The second is a donut in a frying pan, where I drew bubbles on a flat surface to capture the sensation of the donut floating and sinking in the oil. The third scene depicts koi fish in a pond, using thinly sliced Styrofoam to represent the fish's backs barely breaking the water's surface. The fourth is a cluster of islands in the ocean, where I used flat drawings of small dots to indicate the shallow water and coral reefs surrounding the islands, with Styrofoam balls arranged at different heights to form the islands. Lastly, I created a scene of rice balls in red bean soup, focusing on three cute, round, white rice balls floating in the soup, capturing their adorable appearance.
