I was trying different structures on pinterest. The cardboard is too thick ,so it didn’t work well.

I came up some ideas

I was so confused, I am definitely not a person to study design TT

I finally decided to make an iron shape chair.

In the beginning, I didn’t quite like the idea of cross structure….because it’s too simple and common. But I can’t deny how stable it is. Even that, I still tried to mix different structures. Finally, there are totally 3 classic structures. Which I think is cool.

to surport the back of the chair , I put a huge triangular prism.

to make it be able to lay down and stand, I had to consider where the front board is , that was so difficult to assemble all the components. If I got more time, I would not use the clear tape.

surprisingly, the handle of the iron is not just decoration, it also surport the back.

I think from this angle, It looks most alike a iron.

Reflection

I found that I have a bad habit that I do not like pre-planning, which made me wasted a lot of time and strength. Also made me feel frustrated. I was so upset while making this work, doubting if I came to the wrong department. But I’ll keep going. I know the structure of the chair needs to be improved and simplified,and I need to be more patient about my work, consider wider aspects.
