1. [pre-study] Research about “building block”:

    1. explore existing building blocks and examine how they are designed.

    2. how many different kinds of “connections” are designed in the existing examples?

    3. how do these building blocks connect and what kind of potential geometric shape they can create?

  2. Design a modular building block that can be fabricated using a 3D printer or other digital manufacturing methods.

    1. The block should be a single component that can be repeated and combined in various ways.
  3. The size of each building block should not exceed 2x2x2 cm. width+length+height < 6cm

  4. Each block must be designed to interlock with the others.

  5. Use your blocks to construct and then a Geometric Form (size: free).

  6. Document the design and assembly process, highlighting how the modular nature of your block allows for versatility and creativity in building the final animal structure.

Requirement:

[size] a single building block: <2x2x2cm **(width+length+height < 6cm )**

[size] a geometric form: free size

[amount] Create ONE geometric form using the minimum number of building blocks.

[variation] design only one type of building block

>> Each block must be designed to interlock with the others.

[color] no color (material original color)

[making] 3D printing

[material] free
